Title: AI-enabled Secure and Resilient 6G

Abstract: As 6G communications transition toward standardization, achieving robust security, privacy, and resilience across heterogeneous environments remains paramount. This talk highlights our recent work from the UTS 5G/6G Lab, Agile Communications and Computing Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) on embedding artificial intelligence—spanning Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), Deep Generative AI, and collaborative learning paradigms—across 6G layers. At the Application Layer, we present different privacy-preserving frameworks that allow users to enjoy AI applications without compromising their privacy/data. At the Network Layer, we will discuss different applications of GenAI to threat detection, addressing the problem under distributed setting for non-i.i.d data and heterogeneous domains, alongside with coded computing techniques that mitigate stragglers. At the Physical Layer, we introduce DRL-driven backscatter communications that turn hostile jamming into opportunistic transmission, radar-guided friendly jamming for ISAC, and multi-modal Transformers for V2X beamforming. The talk concludes with the immerse potential of GenAI and the challenges on how to train and deploy these powerful models effectively on the 6G systems, referred to as connecting AI or AI networking.
